ASSETS

Viet Nam was a ground war, with Australian and Allied Infantry hunting Enemy Infantry and meeting them in a series of ground battles. Each side had their own assets to support the infantry. One of our main assets was the Helicopter (or chopper). Choppers transported us around the battlefield; resupplied us with ammunition, water and food; brought reinforcements in during battles; provided air support in the form of gunships with their mini guns and rockets; and brought us back to base after an Operation. Choppers gave us the ability to react swiftly to enemy threats.
