Horseshoe

Two more pictures of the perimiter, showing how high above the plain below we were and how much The Horseshoe dominated the surrounding country. The sandbag perimiter provided a fighting barricade. Below this perimiter there were barbed wire entaglements, with mine fields within the barbed wire. There were paths through the barbed wire, but it was always a bit worrying working through those paths ... one wrong turn could end you up in a mine field ... Woody hated coming down from the rim through these paths ... mines are terrible things.
