Pte G.M. Stuchbery

Greg Stuchbery stayed on in Vietnam with Delta Company 4 RAR. That company of men became the last Company of Australian soldiers to be withdrawn from Vietnam on the 12th March 1972. This small group of soldiers became very close and continued their association after returning to Australia.

The group planned a return trip to South Viet Nam in 1993, but Greg could not make the trip due to business, financial and family problems. Greg promised his mates that he would attend the 1994 trip, however, Greg ended his life by Carbon Monoxide poisoning in 1994 in his hometown of Cairns, Queensland.

Gregory Mark Stuchbery served in Vietnam from:

16 December 1970 to 1 March 1971 with 1 ARU;
2 March 1971 to 17 May 1971 with 2 RAR;
18 May 1971 to 6 October 1971 with 7 Platoon, Charlie Company, 3 RAR;
7 October 1971 to 12 March 1972 with Delta Company, 4 RAR

A Tour Of Duty of 13 months.
