HMCS Restigouche, 1983.
This photo was taken onboard HMCS Restigouche in April 1983. This is an
ASROC (anti-submarine rocket) milliseconds
after it was fired. There is a torpedo attached to the head of this rocket which delivers it to the submarine where the torpedo separates from
the rocket and enters the water.
