Jerry P. Smith
During WWII, Jerry P. Smith was inducted into the Navy in March 1944 leaving behind a family of four in Wheeler, Arkansas. Upon completion of basic training in Farragut, Idaho, he was assigned to the USS Orvetta on which he served until his discharge in December 1945.
Eighteen months later, he enlisted in the Air Force where he served 20 years before retiring in 1967.
Jerry died Sept 1989 in Farmington, Arkansas.
We salute him and honor his service.
