John Francis Punch was born on August 20, 1926 in Syracuse, NY. He graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and then enlisted in the US Navy where he served from 1944-1952. He served on several ships including the USS Orvetta in 1945. During his service John was awarded the Asiatic Pacific, American Area and the Victory Medal.
John married Angeline Miceli on June 4, 1949 and had three daughters, Debbie, Kathy and Betty. He joined the Syracuse Police Department in 1953 and served 30 years until his retirement. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign War, Syracuse Police Benevolent Association and he enjoyed gardening, music and furniture making.
John passed away on March 2, 1994 in Syracuse, NY where he was survived by his wife, 3 daughters and 4 grandsons.
