Obituary of Everett Nelson Shatto
Everett Nelson Shatto, 77, Washington, Indiana died at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, September 14,
2002, at Good Samaritan Extended Care Facility in Vincennes.
Born June 24, 1925, in Hartford City, he was the son of Artie M. (Bell)
and Harold J. Shatto, Sr.
During World War II, from August 1942 thru February 1946, he served in the Navy Submarine Division and aboard the USS Orvetta IX-157. At the time of his discharge, his rank was listed as SC2c. He also served as an Army Paratrooper in the Korean War.
He was a self-employed contractor.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline (Crabtree) Shatto, whom he married
March 17, 1954; six daughters, Sherry Lucas of Vincennes, Sheila Smith,
Shanna Starnes, Sharon Risch and Shacha Flint, all of Washington, and
Sonda Sellers of Denver, Colorado; two sons, David Lovins of Vincennes and
Kevin Shatto of Los Vegas; a brother, Gerald Wesley Shatto of Vincennes;
17 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A son, a brother two sisters and a grandson are deceased.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in
Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be no visitation.
