SUBJECT:   After Action Report,
TO          :   Commanding General. XX Corps,   (Thru:  195 FA Group).

  1.  The after action report for this unit for the period 1 February - 28 February, 1945,
       is herewith submitted.
 
           (a)  Narrative:
 
         At the opening of the period covered  herein,  the Battalion was located in the vicinity  of Diekirch,  Luxembourg (18554230).  It was attached to XII Corps,  and 182 Field Artillery Group,  in general support of XII Corps. On 4  Fenruary 1945,  all Howitzer batteries displaced to Haller, (959360), Closing At 1947.  Headquarters and Service Batteries established themselves at Waldbilling, (958348).  The zone of fire was ZA of 5th, 80th, and 76th Infantry Division.

11 February 45,  the battalion displaced to positions two miles Northwest of Consdorf,  (972372),  On 15  February 45,  the unit displaced to Beaufort (972372),  closing at 2300.  At 1030  17 February, battalion received Close Station, March Order, and displaced across the Sauer River to Bollendorf,  Germany, (WL01034013), closing there at 1615.

At 0930,  18 February 1945,  word was received that the unit was to be relived from XII Corps and attached to XX Corps.  The Battalion marched from Bollendorf, Germany at 1700, across Luxembourg, and took up positions at Kirsch-Les-Sierck, France (VU0350094865)  closing at 0430,  19 February 45.  The Battalion was in general support of XX Corps, and attached to 195 Field Artillery Group.

On  20 February 1945,  the unit entered Germany again at Eft, (06569820), the last elements arriving at 2130.  At 1217,  21 February 45, the Battalion closed station at Eft, and displaced to Faha, (097036),  closing in by 1735.  Zone of fire is ZA of 10th Armored Division and 94th Infantry Division.

At 0230,  22 February 45, the Battalion , less Battery "B" received March Order, and by 1600 completed a displacement to Korrig,  Germany (096116).

On 27 February 45,  the Battalion, less Battery "B", marched forward to Tawern, Germany,  (124200),  closing there at 17330.

           (b)  Missions:
 From 1 February to 18 February 1945,  the unit's mission was general support to XII Corps.  From 18 February 45 to the end of the period the mission was general support of XX Corps.

.          (c)  Assignments, attachments:
 
Unit was attached to XII Corps and 182 Field Artillery Group from 1 February 1945 to 18 February 1945.  From 18 February to 1 March 1945,  the unit was attached to XX Corps and 195 Field Artillery Group.
