From Albuquerque, he was joined up with his B17 crew here in the states and they trained together at several bases before shipping out for Massicault, Tunisia from West Palm Beach.  The name of their plane was The Sugarpuss and it was well known for having a lot of bullet holes and still being airworthy. 

He came home after 50 missions and may have become an architect.  As of 6/2001, Roberts address is: 3665 Martha St.  San Diego, CA.  92117-1814

 

 
  On 9 March 1943, this crew was ordered to fly to La Senia, North Africa and report to the CO of the 12th Air Force.  The flight originated from Morrison Field, West Palm Beach, FLA.
