He arrived in at Solenzara, Corsica on 11 May 1944, flew his first combat mission the next day. His final mission (3 October 1944) was his 52nd , an attack on a road bridge at Galliate, Italy.  The Air Medal, one Silver and four Bronze Oak-leaf clusters were awarded posthumously.
