Self, Larry Allen   Boot Camp

Larry served in the US Army. He was stationed iin Germany.

Self, Larry Allen Jr  

Larry enlisted in the US Army in 2004. Afterwards, he served as a welder and member of G Company, 3rd BSB, 1st Brigade,3rd Infantry Division. Larry completed two overseas tours during the Gobal War on Terrorism in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Smith, George W.   Battle Flag

George W. Smith and his older brother, W.D. Smith, took part in the Civil war, serving together in the Thirty-second Georgia Regiment, under Colonel George P. Harrison. "Colonel Harrison’s Infantry" was assigned to Savannah, Georgia, before being assigned to the defense of Charleston, S.C. in 1863. George W. died while in the army, at Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. His Regiment went on to surrender in Greensboro, North Carolina on April 26, 1865.

Smith, John Gordon   Battle Flag

During the Civil war he served bravely in a Georgia regiment, being commissioned as lieutenant of his company, and acting as captain in time of need. He took part in many engagements of note, and in a hard-fought battle just above Atlanta, was severely wounded.

Smith, William Daniel   Battle Flag

W. D. and his younger brother, George, took part in the Civil war, both serving in the Thirty-second
Georgia Regiment, under Colonel George P. Harrison. "Colonel Harrison’s Infantry" was assigned to Savannah, Georgia, before being assigned to the defense of Charleston, S.C. in 1863. William, served as a private throughout the entire war, and at the Battle of Olustee at Ocean Pond, Florida on about February 20, 1864 was severely injured by the falling of a tree. His Regiment went on to surrender in Greensboro, North Carolina on April 26, 1865.

"Smith, William D. private May 7, 1862. Enlisted in Company G, 32nd Infantry Regiment Georgia on 07 May 1862. Sick in Georgia Hospital at Savannah, Georgia. September 30, 1862. No later record."

Tison, Stephen   Battle Flag

Stephen served in the army of the Confederate States of America in the 32nd Georgia Infantry during the US Civil War. He died in the war and never got to see the son he had with his wife, Martha (Williams) Tison. She named the boy Jefferson Davis Tison.

Watson David Michael   48 Stars

David enlisted in the US Army and fought in the Korean War. He was stationed on the island of O'ahu in the (then) US Territory of Hawai'i as a medic.

 

 

 

Watson, Earl Ford  

Ford enlisted as a Private in the US Army on 04 Apr 1942 in Waycross, Georgia and was assigned the serial number 14102361. He joined World War II at 19 years old. Ford was a Capt US Army Air Forces assigned to a Heavy Bomber Unit 0376 when captured as a POW. He was held in for a 19 month period in Germany in Stalag Luft 1 Barth-Vogelsang Prussia 54-12. He was discharged from the Army on 07 Jan 1947. After passing away on 26 May 2001, Ford was interred at Riverside National Cemetary in Riverside, CA - Section 55 Site 4732.
