HQ Btry 2nd/19th Arty 1st Cav Div.
1969-70
"I was drafted in 1969, basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. Artillery training MOS 13A10 at Ft. Sill, OK. I got to Vietnam in Dec. 1969, attached to the 1st Cav. From there I was sent to 2/19th Arty in Tay Nihn. There I was assigned the FDC (fire direction center). We moved from artillery battery to artillery battery to keep in radio communication. We were in charge of plotting the position of the infantry company's, and clearing the firing of the artillery, there was alot to it. We moved closer to Cambodia, along the border in what was called Parrot's Beak area, and the Fish Hook area. We went into Cambodia in April of 1970, and then pulled back out. We set up CP (command posts) at a number of different fire bases. I wish I could remember all the names of them and the guys I knew. I am posting some photos of them, maybe they will see themselves and contact me." Bob Davis
