Frank Delbert Cochran
was the son of Clora Jane Miller and a Civil War Vet, Jacob Benjamin Cochran.
He left Kansas to find work and soon met Luella Coonfield, whom he married in 1913. They had many children, including two sets of twins, and a son named Frankie Lavern Cochran was born in 1927 Chetopa, Labette, KS, and another soon after named Freelon Lorraine; Luella had a special style of naming her children. One was named Joy Benjamin.
Frank Delbert served in WWI - some of his sons also served but the younger ones like Frankie and Freelon served in the Korean War.

When Luella became ill, after having many children, she spent 80 days in the hospital and Frank had to make a very difficult decision, one that he never told anyone, except his daughter, Bernice.
Luella's death certificate lists husband as F. D. Cochran but apparently he named her mother incorrectly or she had a nickname we did not know of.....

Luella's son, Freelon Cochran who died young in the Korean War but the USAF buried him with the wrong name on the tombstones at Fort Smith Cemetery

Frank Delbert Cochran was the son of Jacob Benjamin Cochran and Clora Jane Miller and he was born in 1893 at Hill City in Graham Kansas. His parents had migrated from Iowa in 1882 and took this homestead in Kansas.
The name Frank Cochran has been passed on through the generations
He married
Luella Coonfield in 1914 Arkansas while he was looking for work.
They settled in Labette, Kansas for a while.
and he was quite a handsome young man resembling his father very much and his son Frankie looked much like him in his youth but as the years passed by, young Frankie began to look very much like his grandpa Ben Coonfield
Frank Delbert Cochran was a farmer and a miner, he traveled several places looking for work like Prosperity in Jasper Missouri when son Cleo Stanley was born in 1917 but then in 1920 they were in Oklahoma living near several of his wife's relatives but by 1921 when Irma was born they were back near her parents in Benton Arkansas. And then moved back to Kansas where Frankie was born.
