SELECTEE GETS COMMISSION
Another selective service man in the 32d Division, Private Gardner L. Friedlander, of Milwaukee, Wis., has the honor of receiving a second lieutenant's commission, according to an announcement by Headquarters 32d Division. Private Friedlander received an original commission as a Second Lieutenant in the Signal Reserve, effective October 26, 1941.
The new officer was drafter March 28, 1941 and had been serving as an enlisted man with Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 121st Field Artillery. Upon receiving his commission he was discharged from the Army of the United States to enable him to be placed on extended active duty, and he was immediately assigned to the Army.
