In 1890, he was living in the National Soldiers Home, Southern Branch, in Elizabeth City County, Virginia (4). He had had a gun wound to his left shoulder and right leg (4).
He died on 11 October 1898, in the Southern Branch of the National Soldiers Home (8, 9 [9 Oct]). He was then receiving a pension of $12 per month (8). He had a wound in his left shoulder (8).
