During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service as a private on 11 March 1864, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Gregory (2). He was mustered by Captain Nichols (2). He was owed $400 bounty, and may have been paid $18.82 (3). He served as a private in company B (1).

He was reported absent without leave on 26 April 1864 (4; see also 5).

He was dropped from the rolls on 1 July 1864, as a deserter (1, 3, 5 [3 July]).
