Description

He was 5 feet 9 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, blue eyes, and dark hair (4, 5).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 31 March 1864 in the 62nd Pennsylvania Infantry (1, 4, 5). He was enlisted for three years, at Alleghany, Pennsylvania, by Captain Kirker (4, 5).

He was transferred on 20 July 1864 from company M of the 62nd Pennsylvania to the 91st (1). On 21 July 1864, he, and the other members of companies L and M, were assigned to company G (2). On 22 July 1864, they were transferred to company K, following brigade orders to assign them to the smallest company (3). He was then absent, as a private (3). He served as a private in company K (1).

On 30 April 1865, he was reported absent sick (6). He was still absent, in hospital, at the end of June 1865 (7).

He was wounded. He was transferred to the Veterans' reserve corps (1).

He was discharged on 13 November 1865 (1).
