Description

He was 5 feet 8-1/4 inches tall, and had a light complexion, grey eyes, and grey hair (5).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 21 October 1861 (1, 5, 6 [Sep 61], 7). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Charles L Burr [?] (5). He was mustered in as a private in company H (1). He had gun number 9 (5).

He was at Camp Convalescent, Alexandria, Virginia, on 8 September 1863, when Lieutenant Colonel Sinex asked for his return (2).

Because of disability, he was transferred on 30 September 1863 to the Veterans' reserve corps (1, 3 [1 Sep 1863], 4, 5).

He was discharged on 17 October 1864 (6, 7).

After the war

On 27 November 1883, he successfully applied for a pension (7).

In 1890, he was living at 4506 Wyalusing Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (6).
