In 1870, he was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (9). He was living with his wife Isabella, and children Margaret, William, and George (9). He was a shoemaker, and owned real property worth $3,000 and personal property worth $700 (9).
He applied successfully for a pension on 24 June 1880 (3, 16).
In 1880, he was living at 1352 Ohio Street, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (10). He was living with his wife Isabella, and children William, George, and Mary (10). He was a shoemaker, but had been unemployed for twelve months in the previous year (10).
In 1890, he was living at 2223 Wrekin Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (6, 7). He was a shoemaker (7). He had an injury to his right side (7).
He died on 21 January 1893, of phthisis pulmonalis (15). He was then a shoemaker (15). He was married (15). He died at or was buried from 2535 Sepviva Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (15). He was buried on 25 January 1893, in the Cumberland M E Vault (15).
His widow, Isabella Amey, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension on 6 March 1896 (3, 16).
In 1900, his widow, Isabella Amey, was living at 1821 Somerset Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with her daughter Margaret and Margaret's family (11).
In 1910, his widow, Isabella Amey, was living at 1857 E Resno Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , with her daughter Margaret and Margaret's family (12).
