During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 9 February 1864 (1, 5, 8). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Shipley (5). He was mustered in as a private in company H, by Lieutenant Boorke (1, 5).

On 2 May 1864, he was detailed as a guard at brigade headquarters (4).

He was wounded on 25 May 1864 (1, 7).

On 5 November 1864, he was promoted to corporal, effective 3 November 1864 (2).

On 5 March 1865, he went on a furlough, which expired on 20 March 1865 (3).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 8).

After the war

On 6 December 1865, he applied successfully for a pension (6, 8).
