During the war

He was drafted (1). He was enlisted and mustered into service in the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry on 24 September 1863 (1, 3). He was enlisted for three years, at Pottsville, Pennsylvania (3). His enlistment was credited to the 10th Congressional District (3).

He was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania (1). He served as a private in company B of the 91st (1).

He may have been charged for a lost cartridge box, cross belt, and gun sling, perhaps when the regiment mustered out (2).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1).
