Description

He was 5 feet 7 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, hazel eyes, and dark hair (2).

During the war

He was drafted (1, 2). He was enlisted and mustered into service on 15 March 1865 (1, 2). He was enlisted for one year, at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, by Captain Lloyd (2). He reported for duty on 15 March 1865 (2). His service was credited to the seventeenth congressional district (2). He served as a private in company D (1).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1).

After the war

In 1870, he was living in Barnes Township, Huntington County, Pennsylvania (6). He was living with Ellen Barnett (presumably his wife), and with Almira, Cyrus, Annie, and Stewart Barnett (presumably their children (6). He was a carpenter, and owned $350 in real estate and $200 in personal property (6).

On 21 September 1888, he died (4, 5). He was buried in the Cornpropst Mills Baptist Cemetery, approximately eight miles north of Huntingdon, Pennsylvania (4).

On 22 July 1890, his widow, Ellen Barnett, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (3, 5).

His wife Ellen K Barnett died on 6 February 1895 (4). She was 66 years old (4). She was also buried in the Cornpropst Mills Baptist Cemetery (4).
