He was discharged at Washington, DC, on 22 June 1865 by general order, War Department (1, 3, 5).

After the war

In 1890, he was living in Terry Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania (5). He had rheumatism (5).

He successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension on 30 April 1890 (2, 8).

In 1891 or 1892, he married Abbie [unknown surname] (6). In 1900, she had had four children, two of whom were alive (6).

In 1900, he was living in Terry Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania (6). He was living with his wife Abbie, and daughters Edith and Polly (6). He was a farmer (6).

He died on 9 October 1901 (7, 8). He was buried in the New Era Cemetery, in Terry Township, Bradford County, Pennsylvania (7). His grave has a GAR flagholder (7).

His minor dependent George Horton successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension on 18 July 1908 (2, 8).

His widow, Aba Beeman, successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension on 10 May 1912 (2, 8).
