John Bergner

Before the war

During the war

He also served in company A of the 2nd Indiana Infantry (3, 5).

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 19 August 1861 (1, 2). He was enlisted at Baltimore, Maryland (2). He was mustered in as a private at Baltimore, Maryland (2). He served as a private in company D (1).

He was transferred on 15 July 1863 to the Veterans' Reserve Corps (1, 2 [15 Jul 65 (sic)]). He served in E 21 VRC, and in the 5th Independent Company, 1st Battalion VRC (3, 5).

After the war

On 18 October 1872, his widow, Christina Bergner, applied successfully for a pension (3, 4).
