In 1860, he was living in the 18th ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (12). He was a day laborer (12).

When he was enlisted, he was a clerk (8, 9). He was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when he was enrolled (9).

Description

He was 5 feet 3-1/2 inches tall, and had a light complexion, light eyes, and light hair (8 [5'3-1/2"], 9 [5'4"]).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 4 December 1861, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (8, 9 [mustered in as corporal], 10). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Gilbert (8). He served in company A (8).

He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg (17).

On 23 August 1863, Private Brumley returned to duty from corps headquarters (5). And on 26 August 1863, Sinex reported that Arthur Bromley had been on duty as Provost Guard at Corps Headquarters, and had returned (3). I assume this is Arthur Bloomley.

He was promoted to fifth corporal, on 1 October 1863 (4, 6, 7).

He was mustered into service as a veteran volunteer on 26 December 1863, at Bealton, Virginia (1 [original enlistment as vet], 2 [original enlistment], 9, 10).

He was wounded on 18 June 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia (1).

He was discharged by general order (of Major General Ayres [?]) on 10 September 1864 (1, 8, 9, 10 [25 Sep 64], 16 [discharged for disability]).

After the war

He applied successfully for a pension on 5 October 1864 (2, 11).

In 1870, he was living in the 25th ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (13). He was a U[?]S watchman (13).

In 1880, he was living at 528 Richmond Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (14). He was a bookkeeper (14).

In 1890, he was living in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey (post office Heislerville) (10). He had lost a limb (10).

In 1900, he was living in Maurice River Township, Cumberland County, New Jersey (15). He was a bookkeeper (15).

He died on 13 November 1905 (2).
