He was wounded on 13 December 1862 at Fredericksburg, Virginia. [sources: 1, 3]

He was discharged on 23 or 28 April 1863 at Washington DC, on surgeon's certificate of disability. He was a private, in company D. [sources: 1 (23 Apr), 2 (28 Apr), 3 (28 Apr, medical board), 4 (23 Apr), 5 (23), 6 (23 Apr), 7]

After the war

On 8 July 1863, he successfully applied for a pension. [sources: 6, 8]

In 1890, he was living in the fourth ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was living at 425 [illegible, perhaps 'Monroe'] Street. He had been wounded in his hand. [source: 5]
