He was 5 feet 11 inches tall, and had a fair complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair (2, 3).

During the war

He was a substitute for L E McCrune (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted and mustered into service on 16 March 1865 (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted for one year, at Williamsport, Pennsylvania, by Captain Blair [?] (2, 3). He was mustered in as a private in company K (1). His service was credited to the 38th subdivision of the 18th congressional district (2, 3).

He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1).

After the war

In 1880, he was living in Union, Hudson County, New Jersey (4). He was a carpenter (4). He was living with his wife Hannah, and two daughters (4).

In 1890, he may have been living in Orangetown, Rockland County, New York (5). If so, he also served in the 127th New York Infantry (5).
