During the war

He also served in company G of the 178th Pennsylvania Infantry (4, 5).

He was a substitute (1, 3). He was enlisted and mustered into service on 7 October 1864 (1, 3, 5). He was enlisted for one year, at Monroe County, Pennsylvania (3). His service was credited to the Thirteenth Congressional District (3). He was mustered in company H (1).

On 31 May 1865, he was promoted to corporal, effective 31 May (2). He was promoted on 1 June 1865 to corporal (1).

He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1, 5).

After the war

On 5 December 1879, he applied successfully for a pension (4 [unsuccessful], 5).

On 18 February 1907, he again applied for a pension (5).

He died on 14 September 1911 (5).
