According to the pension index by regiment, he enrolled under the alias 'Thomas Finegan' (4). However, the regimental records have his name as 'Thomas Delaney'. The 1890 census lists his name as "Thomas Finigan alias Thomas Delaney" (5).

Description

He was 5 feet 9-1/2 inches tall, and had a florid complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair (2, 3).

During the war

He was a substitute for J B Linganend [?] (or Bingard?) (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted and mustered into service on 27 March 1865 (1, 2, 3, 4, 5). He was enlisted for three [sic] years, at West Chester, Pennsylvania, by Captain Crestmann (2, 3). He was mustered in as a private in company K (1, 2). His service was credited to the 68th subvisision of the 7th congressional district (2, 3).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 4, 5) He served for 3 mnonths and 17 days (5).

After the war

In 1890, he was living in Beekmantown, Clinton County, New York (5). He had lung disease (5).

On 18 July 1890, he applied successfully for a pension (4).

He died on 18 February 1928, at Schenectady, New York (4).
