He apparently deserted--but the "register of deserters" claims he deserted on 15 January 1861 (3). He was arrested by military authorities, and returned to the regiment (3).

He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg (6).

On 6 October 1863, he returned from hospital (2).

He reenlisted as a veteran volunteer (1).

He died of disease (chronic diarrhea), at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 27 January 1864 (1) or 24 January 1864 (2) or 25 January 1864 (7). He died at, or was buried from, 807 Essex Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (7). He was a US soldier (7). He was single (7). On 27 January 1864, he was buried, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (7).
