He also served in company D of the 68th Pennsylvania Infantry (2, 4, 5). He was mustered into service on 23 August 1862, and was mustered out on 8 September 1863 (2).

After the war

He died on 31 July 1892, of chronic bronchitis (6). He died at, or was buried from, 1010 Lawrence Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (6). He was then a widower (6). He was buried on 3 August 1892 at St John's Methodist Episcopal Vault, and then in Mount Moriah Cemetery (6).
