Description

He was 5 feet 6 inches tall, and had a light complexion, gray eyes, and light hair (4).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 2 August 1862 (1, 4). He was enlisted for three years, at Alexandria, Virginia, by Lieutenant Weeks (4). He served as a private in company F (1).

On 19 April 1863, he was sent to the corps hospital (2).

He was discharged at a hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 8 June 1863, or possibly on 18 June 1863, on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 3, 4).
