He died at, or was buried from, Indiana above D street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (13). He was buried on 18 May 1873, at Greenwood Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Philadelphia (13).
On 28 May 1873, his widow, Isabel L Gash, applied successfully for a pension (8, 14).
In 1880, his widow, Isabel Gash, was living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (11). She was living with her mother, Hanna Hustter, and with three children: George, Sarah, and Mary (11).
In 1890, his widow, Isabel Gash, was living at 439 or 449 East Indiana, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (3, 4). George H Gash, a brickmaker, was also living there (4).
