Description

He was 5 feet 7 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, dark eyes, and dark hair (9).

During the war

He was enlisted on 23 July 1862, for three years, at Alexandria, Virginia, by Captain Henry (9). He was mustered in on 29 July 1862, as a private in company H, at Washington DC, by Captain Dodge (1, 9). He was paid $29 in bounty and premium (9).

He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg (10).

On 8 September 1863, Sinex reported that he was in Anapolis, Maryland, and was unofficially believed to be able to rejoin the regiment (2).

On 26 September 1863, he was reported returned from hospital for duty (4).

On 28 September 1863, he was detailed as a nurse in the division hospital (5).

On 30 December 1863, Sinex reported that he was one of 30 men who had more than fifteen months to serve who were willing to reenlist (3). On 2 January 1864, he was transferred to the 155th Pennsylvania Infantry, while those eligible were on veterans' leave (6).

He was discharged at Warrenton Junction, Virginia, on 6 April 1864 on surgeon's certificate of disability, by order of General Warren (1, 7, 8, 9).
