During the war

He was mustered in as a private, at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania (3). He reported for duty on 15 March 1865 (2). His service was credited to the sixteenth congressional district (2). He served as a private in company D (1).

He was absent, in arrest, when the regiment mustered out (1, 3, 5 [10 July 65], 7 [17 July 1865]).

After the war

On 2 January 1880, he applied successfully for a pension (4, 5).

In 1890, he was living in Martinsburg or Woodbury Township, Blair County, Pennsylvania (post office Curryville) (7). He suffered from chronic diarrhea and neuralgia (7).
