During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 1 or 2 December 1861 (1, 3 [2 Dec]). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Weeks (3). He was mustered into service in company K (1, 3).

He was transferred on 24 December 1861 to company F (1, 4).

He deserted either from Camp Chase, Philadelphia, in December 1861, or from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 10 March 1862 (2 [has both 10 and 11 Mar], 3 [Dec 61]).

He was not accounted for when the regiment mustered out (1).
