During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 11 December 1861 (1, 3 [8 Dec], 6, 8). He enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Brown (6). He was mustered in as a private in company H (1, 9).

He was discharged at camp near Falmouth, Virginia, on 11 April 1863 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8). He was a private, in company H (9).

After the war

On 17 January 1871, he applied successfully for a pension (7, 8).

In 1890, he was living at 1640 Becket, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (3, 4). He was a laborer (4). Thomas Lenahan was also living there (4).
