Description

He was 5 feet 8 inches tall, and had a fair complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair (2).

During the war

He also served in companies C and I of the 20th Pennsylvania Cavalry, and in company I of the 83rd Pennsylvania Infantry (3).

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 14 January 1864 (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Stretch (2). He served as a private in company A (1).

He deserted on 16 January 1864, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2, 3). He was dropped as a deserter on 3 July 1864 (4).

After the war

He died in April 1871, in New York (3).

On 16 April 1931, his widow applied unsuccessfully for a pension (3).
