He was wounded on 13 December 1862 at Fredericksburg, Virginia (1).

On 2 April 1863, he was transferred to the Veterans' Reserve Corps (1 [unknown date], 4, 5 [unknown date]). The regiment may have officially dropped him on 10 June 1863 (3).
