David Lindsay

Description

He was 5 feet 5 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, grey eyes, and black hair (3). He had a wound in his left leg, and scars on his head (3).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service in company B on 20 November 1861 (1, 3, 4). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Keyser (3, 4). He served as a private, initially in company B (1).

He was transferred to company C (1).

He deserted at Washington, DC, on 20 April 1862 (1, 4) or 1 June 1862 (2, 3). (1 June may be the date he was reported deserted.)
