He was probably discharged from the Veterans' Reserve Corps on 15 November 1864 (4).
In 1864/65, he married Elmira [unknown surname] (10). In 1900, she reported having had seven children, all of whom were alive (10).
In 1870, he was living in the 7th ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (8). He was living with his wife Elmira (Elvira?), and his children Henry and Clementine (8). He worked in a soap factory (8).
In 1880, he was living at 4 Pearl Street, Camden, Camden County, New Jersey (9). He was living with his wife Elmira, and children Henry, Charles, Samuel, James, and Anna [?] Elizabeth (9). He was working in a woolen [?] mill (9).
On 20 April 1888, he applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (11, 20).
In 1890, he was living at 2023 South 11th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (4, 5). He was a presser (5). Henry C Lott (a butcher) was also living there (5).
In 1900, he was living at 910 Pine Street, Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania (10). He was living with his wife Elmira and children Clementine, Samuel, and William (10). He was a watchman (10).
On 4 February 1904, he died, in Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania, of cancer of the stomach (13). He was a mechanic (13). He was buried on 8 February 1904, in Mt Moriah Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (13).
On 20 February 1904, his widow, Elmira Lott, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (11, 20).
