H. R. 9967. Sarah H. Luffbarry, aged 72 years, whose post-office address is 141 Dudley Street, Camden, N.J., is the widow of James L. Luffbarry, late a private Company A, Ninety-first Regiment Pennsylvania Infantry, from August 11, 1862, to May 30, 1865, who was a pensioner at the rate of $24 per month and who died November 15, 1917.
He and this claimant were married April 8, 1868.
This claimant is now pensioned as the soldier's widow at $30 a month under certificate No. 847942.
The medical evidence presented shows the claimant is practically helpless and requires the periodical aid and attendance of another person by reason of old fracture of hip with imperfect union, glaucoma, with almost loss of right eye and partial loss of sight of left eye, and diabetes mellitus.
She has no property and her pension is her only income. No one is legally bound to her support.
It is recommended her pension be increased to $50 a month.
Rev. James Luffberry, 72 years old, pastor of the East Side Methodist Protestant Church, died suddenly of heart disease last evening at his home, 106 North Twenty-third street.
