He left his home in Philadelphia about 1878, claiming he was going to Salem or to Roanoke, Virginia (9). In 1894, his friends had not heard from him, and the Pension Bureau was trying to get information about him (9).
On 4 February 1908 [?], his widow, Eliza A M Bradley, applied unsuccessfully from Washington DC for a pension (6, 8).
In 1910, his widow, Eliza Ann Bradley, was living at 908 B Street, Washington, DC (7). She was living with her sister Nellie Whitney [?] (7).
