He was wounded on 13 December 1862 at Fredericksburg, Virginia (1, 4).

On 17 February 1863, he was discharged on surgeon's certificate of disability (1 [Apr 63], 2, 4 [Apr 63]).

After the war

On 3 August 1865, he successfully applied for a pension (5, 6).

On 15 March 1884, his mother unsuccessfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (5, 6).
