During the war

He was drafted (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted and mustered into service in the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry on 17 July 1863 (1, 2, 3). He was enlisted for three years (2). His enlistment was credited to the fourth congressional district (2). He served in company F of the 118th Pennsylvania (3, 6).

He was captured at Cold Harbor, Virginia, on 2 June 1864 (3).

On 2 June 1865, he was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry (1). He served as a private in company C in the 91st Pennsylvania Infantry (1).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1).

After the war

He died on 28 May 1878 (6).

In 1890, his widow, Martha, was living in Lowell, Middlesex, Massachusetts (4).

On 24 May 1890, his widow, Martha Pearson, applied from Massachusetts for a pension, which she received (5, 6).
