He reenlisted as a veteran volunteer, at Bealton, Virginia (1, 6), presumably on 26 December 1863.
He was wounded on 10 [?] May 1864, at Spottsylvania Court House, Virginia (1, 14).
On 27 June 1865, he was promoted to corporal, effective 1 May 1865 (1, 3, 6).
He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1, 5, 6, 8 [14 Jul]). He was then a corporal (7).
In 1866 or 1867, he married Catharine [unknown surname] (11). In 1900, she had had seven children, three of whom were living (11).
In 1880, he was living at 1927 Blair Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (10). He was a weaver (10). He was living with his wife Catherine, and children Samuel, George, and Theodore (10).
On 8 April 1887, he applied successfully for a pension (7).
In 1890, he was living at 2027 or 2037 Blair Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (8, 9). He was a weaver (9).
In 1900, he was living at 2027 Blair Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (11). He was a laborer for the Water Bureau [?], and had not been unemployed in the previous year (11). He was living with his wife Katie and son George (11).
He died on 13 October 1902, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of cancer of stomach (7, 15). He was a laborer (15). He was living at, or died at, 2027 Blair Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (15). He was buried on 19 October 1902, at Palmer Vault, and then Greenwood Knights of Pythias Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennslyvania (15).
His widow applied successfully for a pension (7). A contesting widow also applied for a pension, but unsuccessfully (7).
On 29 July 1909, his widow, Kate Peberdy, died (13). The funeral was held on Saturday from 2253 North Hope Street (her residence) (13). Member of Circle 102 Ladies of the GAR were invited to attend (13).
