Description

He was 5 feet 4-3/4 inches tall, and had a light complexion, hazel eyes, and dark hair (5, 6 [5'5").

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 13 September 1861 (1, 5, 6). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Starr (5, 6). He served as a private in company G (1).

On 23 February 1863, he may have returned to the regiment from duty at Windmill Point Hospital (3).

He fought at the Battle of Gettysburg (8).

On 8 September 1863, Sinex asked for his return from Baltimore, but did not explain why he was in Baltimore (2).

He mustered out on 2 November 1864 when his term expired, at camp in the field, near Pegram's House, Virginia (1, 4, 5, 6, 7).
