Description

He was 5 feet 8 inches tall, and had a light complexion, gray eyes, and gray hair (4).

During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 2 November 1861 (1, 2, 4). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Murphy (4). He was mustered into service as a private, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2). He served as a private in company F (1).

He was discharged at Washington DC on 12 April 1862 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 3, 4).
