During the war

He was enlisted and mustered into service on 2 December 1861 (1, 4 [5 Sep 61], 6, 8). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Closson (6). He served as a private in company G (1).

He was transferred to B 22 Veterans' Reserve Corps in 15 November 1863, by order 365, War Department (1, 3, 4 [Aug 63], 5 [15 Nov], 6 [15 Nov], 7, 8 [B 23]). His descriptive list was sent (to the Veterans' Reserve Corps?) on 18 December 1863 (6).

After the war

In 1890, he was living in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (4).

On 7 July 1892, he applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (7, 8).

He was a member of the General Nathanial Lyon Post number 10, of the Grand Army of the Republic, Vineland, New Jersey (2). He was 56 when he was admitted, in 10/29 (2).

On 14 [?] February 1907, he again applied for a pension (8).
