Description

He was 5 feet 5-1/2 inches tall, and had a ruddy complexion, gray eyes, and light hair (2).

During the war

He was a substitute (1, 2). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 21 March 1865 (1, 2). He was enlisted for three [sic] years, at Easton Pennsylvania, by Yohoe [?] (2). His enlistment was credited to the eleventh congressional district (2). He served as a private in company A (1).

He was absent, sick, when the regiment mustered out (1, 2).

After the war

In 1880, a Michael Strieger was living at 222 Grey Street, Buffalo, Erie County, New York (3). He was living with his wife, Mary Strieger and his son Felix Strieger (3). He was a laborer (3).
